Taiwan through Mongolians eyes

What does Taipei mean. Portnoy?

「tai」 means peace. 「pei 」 means north. It is said that this name is originated from Mongolia.

During the time of Yuan dynasty which was established by Khublai king, the island of Taiwan was discovered and several tribes had lived on the island. Later these tribes became an independent nation.

Thought: The word Taiwan could be originated from a Mongolian word 「taivan」.

Adaptability
